Richard Pearce is an architect, designer, creative director
and futurist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Richard’s work intersects architecture and design, with
a particular interest in researching the relationships
between humans and technology with a focus on the
integration of intelligent objects within cities and complex
urban environments. Richard applies strategic thinking
and design understanding to create unique and intelligent
solutions that interconnect the role design plays in
enhancing people’s lives.
His work includes retail design and brand pavilions
for Cartier, Nike, Burberry and Prada; automotive and
interaction design for the Ford Group; buildings and
products for Tom Dixon and Audi; the design of restaurants
for Jamie Oliver and hotels for the Gansevoort Group; plus
projects for branding and design agencies including United
Visual Artists, Deepend, Poke and Imagination
Richard is also a passionate cyclist and has been involved
with the sport throughout his entire life, originally racing
across multiple disciplines including BMX, track, cyclo-
cross, MTB and road. He later co-founded CHPT3 with
David Millar and has also designed apparel and products
for Castelli, Fizik, Brooks, Team Sky, Factor, Pinarello,
Colnago, Kask, gravel privateer Nathan Haas, POC and
Brompton.
The relationship between Castelli and Richard dates back
to the iconic 2017 Team Sky kit design that referenced
the team’s victories through a visual data representation
of dashed lines that became the visual identity of the
team. The Summer 24 R—A/D collection is the start of a
creative collaboration between Richard and Castelli that
will develop products that intersect design, architecture,
culture and cycling performance
